InnovateEDU has a strong history of developing, launching, and supporting innovative models and edtools such as Cortex, a learning management system currently in use by 25,000+ students. The mission of Cortex is to power personalized learning. The platform lets users build, share, and administer content and uses data from students to drive academic growth. Cortex was originally created for students. Now with the help of the micro-grant, InnovateEDU has built out adult learning content in an effort to rethink professional development and provide educators with personalized and high-quality supports. The platform delivers on-site training on personalized and tech-enabled learning for professionals and digitized PD playlists. Rich, diverse, and effective professional content like this solves the problem of non-accessibility and non-consumption that plague many schools due to distance, availability, and funds.
